I am primarily a Painter of people,never tiring of the thrill of capturing not just a likeness but also that elusive something, a spark of their personality, perhaps a glimpse of their soul.
As well as painting commissioned Portraits I use models to create poses with interesting angles enabling me to explore shadows and depths. I am a contemporary artist who uses traditional painting methods whether in Soft Pastel or in Oil paint. Recent Pastel Paintings Seduction and Reflection are painted from above the model creating an interesting and intimate almost voyeuristic viewpoint. ' Angel'another recent Pastel Painting is a more traditional pose. Using the pastel I have shown the soft vulnerability of natural youthful beauty which is in sharp contrast to the deep etching into the skin of her tattoo.
