My new paintings have been around in my head and my heart if not played out in my studio,for a long time. They capture intimate moments in time. The painting 'Preparing the mincemeat for Christmas' is something my daughter and I do each Autumn. 'A stolen moment..' is something all of us who love to read will do given half a chance. They are glimpses of the ordinary everyday moments that occur in all our lives. The other appeal of them to me is the study of light and the contrast of shadows. I am I feel at last on the path Ive been heading to. My love of painting Portraits however has not dimmed at all and I feel they complement each other.
